Literacy organizations and employers in Newfoundland and Labrador can sign up to run workshops with 24 topics to choose from. Hosts can choose to run a series of workshops on a number of topics, or focus on a select few based on the needs and interest of their learners. Employers may be eligible to receive a salary offset (up to $15/hr) for each employee participating in a two-hour workshop, while literacy organizations may be eligible to receive a $50 honorarium for every workshop run. Certain conditions apply.
Ready to host a workshop? Complete the form below. Once we receive your booking, we will get back to you to confirm your details and help coordinate your workshop.
*Please note that we require workshops be booked at least three weeks in advance in order to ship your materials to you on time.
Update on Activate Learning workshops:
The Federal Government recommends social distancing for everyone, including those in communities without any confirmed cases of COVID-19. If you have an Activate Learning workshop scheduled in the next few weeks, please contact us to reschedule, or to discuss options for delivering the content to your learners remotely. We’re here to help you find a way forward to continue advancing lifelong learning and ensure the safety of your staff and learners.
In light of the recent developments, Activate Learning has made the following updates to programming:
- Employer workshops can be facilitated by ABC Life Literacy staff via Zoom, Skype, or another video conferencing platform. Employers interested in facilitating their own remote workshops can contact us for guidance on delivering the program remotely.
- Employer workshops can be booked with an in-person facilitator as early as April 25 by completing the form below. Please note that this date is subject to change depending on how the next several weeks unfold.
- Printed workshop resources will continue to be available to employer and community run workshops, upon request.
Our top priority is to ensure the safety of staff, learners and partners. We will continue to monitor the situation, and will update the community as necessary.
